An excerpt from LAGO's original FS2002 (!) product page: "Emma Field is a very special and innovative product. It is a SIMULATION of everything that goes on at a small airfield. Far more than just scenery, it includes the activities, sights, and sounds of daily life on the field. From the quiet winter days when only the local FBO is doing its flying business, to the busy summer weekends when the glider pilots drive up to the airport with their trailers. Even the relaxed summer evenings when the barbecue at the Flying Club is lit for the people who stay overnight. All events will be started at the correct day and time and will depend on the weather (real time weather is advised). That means that the airport will be very quiet on a stormy winter Monday morning but in full swing on a sunny, warm August Saturday.
This product includes unique opportunities for glider pilots who can use thermals that are wind and temperature dependent. And you will be able to see detailed glider operations with gliders that are brought to the airport, unpacked and assembled (!) and winched up to altitude. Even the people needed for glider operations are shown with all the correct arm gestures. The powered aircraft that arrive and depart all fly complex circuits (these can be made visible with a menu option!!) and when you join them you will be guided from your parking on the apron to the active runway by another member of the Emma Field Flying Club. When you arrive they will help you to find a free parking and will help you avoid collisions with other aircraft. Emma Field is designed to give you a starting point for your flights. A home inside FS, a place you will slowly get to know better. You´ll start to know the people and the location better with each visit. Located close to Seattle it is a great place to spend some time when you are tired of this big jets. When you are a bush pilot Emma Field is heaven...." As you can see, Emma Field is a very complex simulation. Since the publication of FS2004: A Century of Flight, there has been a lot of turmoil around Emma Field and LAGO. Upgrading the software to the new flight simulator was not simple because Emma Field programmers used a lot of special tricks that did not work anymore with the new Microsoft release. The FS2004 upgrade is available from LAGO and used by the majority of the over 1,000 current EFFC Members!
