Welcome to the Emma Field Flying Club !!

You have stumbled upon our new 'club site' and are now about to enter the fabulous virtual world of Emma Field's Flying Club.
This IS a real-world club, with real members and all their human quirks and pleasantries, but they fly in VIRTUAL aircraft, from a non-exisitent airfield somewhere in Washington State, using Microsoft's Flight Simulator to cater for their aviation world.

If you're curious to see if this might be something for you..... joining the world's largest virtual flying club, then read the rest of this story and look around on our website. You'll be amazed to say the least!

The Emma Field Flying Club was conceived by a number of people, after an initial idea of Nicolas Garcia-Huidobro. Nicolas posted a question on one of the simFlight forums and in no time was joined by a few people showing a keen interest of setting up such a virtual flying club.

To get things going quickly a group of volunteers were recruited and some initial tasks distributed among the 'board' (for lack of a better word). People involved in those early hours were Nicolas Garcia-Huidobro, Eddy Februanto Putra, Terry Horne, Jeroen Wenting, Rob de Vries, Matthew Driscoll, Richard Goldstein, and of course Francois 'Navman' Dumas. Unfortunately most of these folks have moved on, but we still owe them a big Thank You for their efforts at the time. Currently, there is no 'board' anymore and all the official 'work' has been done by Fritz, Emma Field's caretaker, often assisted in the shadows by François aka Fritzois.

But..... a large number of enthusiastic and loyal Emma-ites have remained very active in the Emma Field Flying Club FORUM, where it is all happening !

Apart from the volunteers above, there are/were some Important Others involved of course.

First of all The simFlight Network of Miguel Blaufuks and simFlight.com managed by François Dumas. SimFlight has provided the EFFC with message boards, webspace and general coordination and is in essence providing the infrastructure for the virtual club.

Secondly, LAGO. LAGO not only is the publisher of Emma Field and other such titiles, but they also were supporting the EFFC in various ways. Initially Mathijs Kok welcomed the concept and after that Andrea (Andy) De Luca was EFFC's contact at LAGO. Unfortunately they too have moved on to other pastures........

Next on the list of Very Important People are of course Richard Goldstein, Maurizo Gavioli and Oliver Pabst. Without them there would not have been an Emma Field. They designed the scenery as part of Richard's GeoRender series of very realistic sceneries. Richard is a great sport and immediately agreed on joining the team AND making special features for the club, such as the Clubhouse with our little office in it !

Then there were a number of individuals supporting us with multi-player servers. They were Terry and Jeff with their private servers. Terry is still there. They have made their servers available for hosting our multiflyer sessions. This is much appreciated and a very generous thing to do.

Finally there is the Multiplayer Server provided by François. It is now the MAIN MP Server for Emma and you can find all the details about it under FAQ's section.

Our thanks to all the aforementioned parties and persons, on behalf of EFFC members, for adding more value to our hobby !
